It fits like a glove, very nice. I will be reinforcing it with plywood this Friday.

Animatics

The alien is rendering .. 

Not even close to finish, though. It's just animatics so far. 

I figured I had four 3D animations left, but I started watched the first animation I did a couple of months ago and wondered if the scene is really scary? I am worried you are seeing too much of the alien, in a crouch position and maybe it doesn't really get that intimidating. 

I might try it differently, with the monster standning, all occluded in darkness, and eventually showing its ugly grin to the protagonist. 

Soft bag arrived

The bag has arrived today, I believe this will work quite well. It's a little bit taller than expected, but I am anyway going to fill up the bottom with foam and probably plywood. Tonight's project!

Transporting CDJS?!

I live on the third floor and have to pass 4 doors to reach my car in the basement. How do you easily transport your dj gear? You don't!

I've tried different solutions;

• Separate case  = Longer setup time and two trips back and forth between car and apartment.
• One large flighcase = Heavy, cumbersome, backpain. Quick setup time.

I'm going to try a big keyboard soft bag, and keep everything hooked up inside it. Maybe reinforce the bottom and a custom plyboard lid. 

Alien infestation

As a kid I was terrified by the Alien-movies. Creatures implanting their seed in your mouth, only to burst out of your chest later on to grow 2 meters tall and sneak around in the dark, killing everything in its path? No way, José!

This year I have been doing a short fan fiction Alien movie. It all started when I got a hold of a free 3d Alien model. When messing around with it, I realized I could probably learn character animation and actually make it convincing. I have good experience in 3d, just not character animation.

So this whole short is an excuse to learn bones, joints, IK-chain and so on. The process takes a lot longer than anticipated, but it is fun to see this monster come alive in front of me. I am almost 11, again.

One blog to rule them all!

I have not been too busy updating this blogg, but my friends are on me to share more about what I do. I am a pretty private person, so the whole "share everything with everyone" is not exactly my cup of tea. 

This blog has been merged with my other blog BTBmedia, which was about my filmmaking endeavors. So now I only have one blog to update, which is pretty sweet. Keep it simple, stupid!

Lately I have been transitioning to Rekordbox. At one DJ-gig I just had an epiphany: lose the laptop. Just get it out of the booth.

The Electribe Sampler runs into the mixer, with drum kits and percussion sounds preloaded. Lets me play and sequence stuff on top of the mix, which is really fun.

I've been practicing mixing old funk and disco tracks, and it is quite hard to beat match two human drummers not playing to a metronome. But practice makes perfect!
